Is Chiropractic care safe for me and my family?

Chiropractic care is recognized as one of the safest types of health care in the world. Numerous studies, funded by governments, universities and nonprofit research institutions, have proven it to be a successful primary intervention for neuromusculoskeletal conditions — a therapy that is safer, in fact, than some traditional procedures used to treat the same conditions. It is a very natural treatment.

Chiropractic is also widely used as complementary care for a variety of other conditions and diseases, and to promote overall health and well-being. At Wake Forest Chiropractic, we will not hesitate to refer you to other care providers if chiropractic care is not appropriate to teat your condition, or if it is not helping you heal as quickly as we expect.

Will I have to come for appointments multiple times each week for months on end?

It is extremely unlikely that you will have appointments at our practice multiple times each week for months on end, and if you are having that experience with another practitioner you may want to seek a second opinion. Our bodies are meant to, and should, heal fairly quickly. Depending on the severity of you condition, we may ask you to come for two or three appointments each week for two to four weeks. Once the acute pain has become manageable, we will quickly begin to reduce the frequency of your appointments.

Will I be asked to sign a Maintenance Agreement for long term ongoing care?

Some patients choose to stop chiropractic care once their acute pain has been relieved. Many choose to continue to receive preventative care, also know has maintenance. The patient will decide what is best for their body and budget.

The doctor may recommend that a patients appointments for preventative care be once every six months, three months, or two weeks. It depends on the patient’s physical condition. The doctor will make a recommendation for the frequency, and then the patient will decide on the schedule that is best for them. For example, the doctor recommended to one of our clients that she schedule her maintenance appointments about six weeks apart. The patient said the she felt better when her appointments were four weeks apart. The doctor decided that was fine for her body, and now she comes in for her appointment once each month.

At this point, most insurance plans do pay for chiropractic care if you have a specific medical issue, but most do not pay for preventative chiropractic care, even though the cost is less than $50.00 per appointment. The insurance plans have changed their policies many times, and we hope that they will soon decide to reimburse patients for preventative chiropractic care as they are beginning to do for check-ups with primary care physicians.

To help reduce the cost of preventative chiropractic care for our patients, Wake Forest Chiropractic offers a maintenance plan to our patients for a reduced rate when they pay for four or more visits at one time. There is no long term commitment or contract to sign.

Why Patients See Us

After taking a careful history and performing an examination, if we can help you with your condition we will tell you.  If we feel that we cannot help you, we will tell you and then refer you to someone that we believe can help you.

To be honest, some patients see us after they have tried everything else first, feel as though they have no other options and have little to lose.  However, most others are referred by other patients or medical professionals for one reason … they trust us.

All specialties are represented here in the Wake Forest Business Park and we will not hesitate to refer you if we feel someone else can serve you better.

Can Chiropractic Help You?

If you are suffering from neck or back pain, headaches, arm or leg pain and/or disc herniations, the answer is most likely … Yes.  However, if after evaluating you I do not feel I can help, I will refer you to someone that will.
